August 11, 2011It’s been an eternity since Milwaukee’s Brief Candles released the excellent They Live We Sleep in 2006, an album that perfectly captured the band’s way with lush guitarscapes and airy vocals reminiscent of Ride, Swervedriver, and the ’80s and ’90s 4AD Records scene. Long-suffering fans can rejoice, though, because the group is finally releasing its third album, Fractured Days, at tonight’s show. Opening will be the noisy King’s Horses, a group whose recent album Polis successfully mines a more hardcore approach without forgoing catchy, underlying pop riffs. more at avclub.com
