"Solidarity Rock is an artist run organization working to partner musicians, artists and creative people in Cuba, Canada and beyond. Since 2008, we have been working to collect instruments and musical equipment to help our friends in Cuban rock bands find their own way through music.

Rock n Roll was once outlawed in Revolutionary Cuba, seen as a foreign and invasive cultural phenomenon. For years, LPs were bought and sold illegally. Musicians were repressed and their shows banned. Times have changed, and rock and roll is alive and well in Cuba. We’re helping to make connections between creative communities in Cuba, Canada and beyond with the common language of Rock n Roll. Based in Edmonton, AB, Canada and Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, we are producing rock tours, helping to secure much needed equipment for our Cuban partners and having a great time doing it. We have brought instruments, friendship and solidarity to Cuba, and there’s more on the way!"
